Welcome

We are the Denver-area chapter of the International Aerobatic Club, a division of the Experimental Aircraft Association. Our members come from all along the Front Range from Ft. Collins to Colorado Springs, as well as from neighboring states. RMAC's goal is safety above all else. We share a love of aerobatic flying, whether for personal enjoyment, the precise demands of competition, or working on the sidelines as judges and support personnel at contests. Our activities fall into three main categories:

  • Competition
  • Recreational flying, including critique and practice days
  • Group meetings and social events

Congrats to the MSU Denver Road Runner Pilots and Coaches for winning the 2017 IAC Collegiate Championships!  Several individual pilots placed as well. See the IAC.Org national website for the full results.  Kudos to Dagmar, Nick and Betty among others for countless hours of support, flying, airplanes, and critquing.  REPEAT in 2018!

Erie Radio Tower - aka. VFR Light Stick Demolished

On December 20, 2017 there was news that a moth balled NOAA radio tower was demolished somewhere in Erie, CO.  Low and behold, it is the tower close to EIK airport  and on the VOR/GPS approach plate.  They detonated the guide wires (see smoke)  and it fell down like a slinky.  Still shot on it's way to the ground is captured in the included image. So when you are looking for this landmark and cannot find it - there's a reason!
